Understanding Sex Addiction (Compulsive Sexual Behavior) in Clinical Practice
Objectives:
Alesha Martin, LCSW, is a trauma therapist, speaker, and owner of a private practice specializing in betrayal trauma, compulsive sexual behavior, relationship healing, and attachment-focused therapy. She began her career serving in law enforcement and military settings before serving as the Director of Psychological Health for the Tennessee Army National Guard, where she supported the behavioral health and resilience of service members.
In addition to her clinical practice, Alesha serves as a clinician with Bethesda Workshops, facilitating betrayed partner and couples' intensives while teaching in men's recovery workshops. She also co-facilitates adventure-based therapeutic intensives for the Wounded Warrior Project, supporting veterans recovering from combat-related trauma.
Alesha is EMDR trained, a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), and a Certified Clinical Partner Specialist (CCPS). She is passionate about helping individuals and couples move beyond shame, restore connection, and experience lasting healing after trauma and sexual betrayal.
Outside of work, Alesha enjoys hiking, kayaking, running, spending time outdoors with her family, and playing pickleball—where she happily admits her family usually wins.
